Write up the job, print the invoice
For the work you do for other people with your equipment and your time: plowing snow, cleaning ditches, cutting trees, picking stone. Keep a customer list, price each job from your own price list, and print a clean PDF invoice with your farm's name and logo on it.
30 days free, no credit card. One module is $1,200 a year for the whole farm.
What the Services module gives you
- Your own price list: set what you charge once for the season, by the hour, the acre, the foot, the load, the mile, or whatever you charge by.
- Prices fill themselves in: pick the job on an order and its unit and price are already there. Change either one if this job was different.
- An invoice that looks the part: a PDF with your name, address and logo at the top, ready to print or save.
- Quotes too: price a job before the work starts. A quote says plainly that it is a quote, not an invoice.
- Discounts without a calculator: take off dollars or a percentage, and the totals work themselves out.
- Know who still owes you: every order carries a status, from Draft through Mailed to Received, so you can see what has been sent and what has been paid.
Customers, what you offer, and each job
Set up the lists once, and every order after that is a few picks and a quantity.
What you offer
- Up to three levels
- For example Snow Removal, then Plowing, then Driveway. Something simple like Stone Picking can stop at one.
- Your own words
- The three levels start as Service, Option and Detail. Call them whatever suits your business.
- Units
- Each, hour, acre, foot, load and mile to start with, and you can add your own.
- Prices per season
- Copy last season's prices across at the start of a new year, then change the ones that went up.
Customers
- Name and address
- What prints on the invoice, plus a phone number and email if you have them.
- Bring them in from Excel
- Download the list, fill it in, and bring it back. You see every add and change before anything is saved.
- Inactive
- Stop offering a customer on new orders without losing their old ones.
Each order
- Order number
- Numbered for you from 1001, and a number is never used twice.
- Lines
- Up to 20, each with what was done, the unit, the quantity and the price.
- Discounts
- Up to 10, in dollars or as a percentage of the subtotal.
- Status
- Draft, Quote, Completed, Mailed, Received or Cancelled.
Changing a price never changes an old order
Each order keeps the prices it was written with. Raise your rates next spring and last fall's invoices still say what you actually charged.
A PDF for the customer, a report for you
Generate the invoice from the order and open it as a PDF to print or save. If you change the order afterwards, FarmingMode tells you the invoice is out of date, so you never mail an old one by mistake.

Worth being straight about
Services makes the invoice. It does not email it for you, it does not take payments from your customers, it does not work out sales tax, and it does not connect to QuickBooks or other accounting software. You print or save the PDF and send it the way you always have.
