Registering does not ask for a card. You set the farm up, run some real days through it, and decide at the end of the month. Nothing bills automatically because there is nothing on file to bill.
The things people ask before signing up
Can I add a module later?
Yes. The account owner adds or drops modules on the Change Modules page in the Owner Portal, which is also where you can see which modules you are subscribed to and when they renew. The page shows the new yearly price before you commit.
A module you add is ready to use right away. You are charged the difference for the rest of the year, and it is added to your next invoice. A module you drop stays until your renewal date, since that year is already paid for.
Is there a charge per user?
No. The subscription is priced at the account level, by how many modules the farm has turned on. Adding people costs nothing, whether they are Managers, Users or read-only Viewers.
What happens at the end of the trial?
Nothing is charged automatically, because starting a trial does not collect a card. Every module is turned on during the trial, so you can try all of them. To carry on, the account owner picks the modules and pays through Stripe checkout from the Owner Portal.
Everything you entered stays. It is the same account, so nothing has to be typed in again. A module you tried but did not buy drops off the menus, and what you entered in it comes back if you add that module later.
How do I cancel?
Through the Stripe billing portal, which you reach from the Owner Portal in the app. That is also where you change the card on file or update billing details.
Do you take credit cards? Can I pay by check?
Yes to both. Cards go through Stripe checkout. Card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored by FarmingMode.
To pay by check, use the Rather pay by check? link on the Subscribe page. We email you an invoice with 60 days to pay, and your account stays open while it is out. Farms that pay by check are billed by the calendar year: the first invoice covers the rest of this year, and a new one comes each January.
Is it billed monthly?
No, annually. The prices above are per year for the whole farm.
Can I get my data out?
Yes. Every report downloads to Excel or CSV, and they are available the whole time you have a subscription. Your farm's records belong to you.
Do I need to install anything?
No. FarmingMode is a web app and runs in the browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer. There is no app to download. It does need a signal, though: it will not record anything while you are out of service.
